Restaurants are open again! If you've been craving a socially-distant night out of the house with no dishes after dinner, this is a great opportunity to support businesses that have been among the hardest hit over the past year.

All this month, Downtown is celebrating #FoodieFebruary. It doesn't get much better than supporting our community and getting a delicious meal in return! If you're not sure where to start, here are our team's top 5 restaurant recommendations in Downtown Rochester:

1. Kruse & Muer

From salads to seafood and pasta to pizza, the only disappointment you'll have here is that you can't eat everything. On top of the food, the service is always exemplary, with staff ready to answer questions and making sure you're taken care of during your whole meal. Their long history in downtown has made them a central part of Main Street. Our team will take any excuse to eat there for any meal of the day! If you prefer not to eat in the restaurant, they do offer curbside service.

2. Rochester Mills Beer Co.

It doesn't get much better than a good drink with some good food. They have a large menu with lots of options for everyone (and if you decide to get a side, we recommend trying their sweet potato fries - SO good!). Just off of Main St., Rochester Mills is in the first floor of what was once the Western Knitting Mill and the interior preserves the character of this historic building. Fun fact, we used to work in the same building! It was a great excuse to sneak downstairs for a delicious and convenient lunch.

3. Penny Black

If you haven't tried Penny Black Grill & Tap yet, make your next lunch/dinner plans now! This delicious restaurant offers patio and fire pit tables for those who would prefer outdoor dining. With all the burger options you could ask for, yummy salads for those who want something lighter, and of course a large drink menu, everyone's biggest problem will be narrowing down what they want to eat!  We have yet to try something on their menu that isn't delicious. It's also conveniently located right by one of the downtown parking garages for easy access.

4. Rochester Brunch House

Who doesn't love brunch? The RBH is crazy-popular in downtown for a reason: it's delicious! If your sweet tooth is calling, they have pancakes, french toast, and waffles of all flavors and varieties. If you'd prefer savory, they've got you covered with everything from eggs Benedict to avocado toast. And although breakfast is just as good sitting down as it is to-go, the brunch house's interior is just as beautiful as its food. If you're in more of a lunch mood, they also offer sandwiches, salads, and other afternoon options. A great choice no matter the time of day!

5. Rochester Chop House & Bar

When we say the food is amazing, we mean unbelievably over-the-top delicious. The appetizers are good enough to be the main course, and every single thing we've tried on their menu has been some of the best food we've ever had. If you've been wanting to make sure your first time eating out in forever is a special occasion, this is your place. With the perfect combination of great food, drinks, service, location, atmosphere, and no dishes afterward, you've got all the ingredients you need for the perfect date night! We know you'll love it as much as we do.
